WINE DETAILS
Beverone is a big field blend of Trebbiano, Malvasia Di Candia, Passerina, Fiano, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. It's delicious and easy...almost slippery and begging to be drunk. This is the perfect time of year for such a wine. It generously comes in a liter format, but you'll be shocked by how fast the bottle will disappear right before your eyes.
Controvento is located in Rocca San Giovanni, in Abruzzo, and is run by Vincenzo Di Meo. Abruzzo is a mountainous region in central Italy with a significant coastline on the Adriatic sea and an important region for wine. Abruzzo is particularly known for two varieties, the red Montepulciano and the white Trebbiano. Vincenzo's father bought some land in Rocca San Giovanni at the end of the 1970s and planted some vines. The vineyards, farmed organically, are now a total of 5 hectares. Vincenzo follows a non-interventionist approach in the cellar with spontaneous fermentations using indigenous yeast and no sulfites are used at any stage of production. All of Controvento's wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered. Enzo’s wines are a genuine expression of the terroir they come from, fresh and salty, easy, but never boring.
