Wines & Orders

What is natural wine?

Outside of your supermarket aisles and off of chain restaurant wine lists, there exists good wine. It’s often made in the most unassuming of places, like a dingy garage or shed adjacent to a camper van that the winemaker calls home, surrounded by their vines. Good wine has nothing added and nothing removed. Respect for the vines and nature is the guiding force in the vineyard. You won’t find any toxic chemicals being sprayed here, which means the winemaker must be more skilled at working with nature instead of using chemical crutches to coax it into submission.

In the cellar, the same respect for what nature has provided remains. Native yeasts are always used to kick start fermentation and other than a small amount of sulfites when absolutely necessary, nothing is ever added to the wine. Just grapes.

The end result is often a wine that has a certain almost indescribable energy to it. The wines are vibrant. They’re alive. Once we got a taste of these living wines, there was no turning back, and we believe that drinking these wines is not only more enjoyable than drinking conventional wine, but that it’s also just the right thing to do.
