Domaine Hughes-Beguet
Set amongst the lush landscape of Mesnay, is the home and vineyards of natural winemaker, Patrice Beguet. Drawing inspiration from his love of jazz and the diverse scenery of Jura; his range of wines is electric, textural, and complex.
Patrice left a busy life working in IT, in Paris to return to Jura, where he was born, and pursue his dream of making natural wine. He loves this region because whilst it is well known for wine production, the landscape is not dominated by vineyards. There are mountains, fields, and forests. Patrice lives and works amongst this beautiful greenery with his two young children.
Patrice strongly believes in minimal intervention and healthy living.
When it comes to organics he says “I will never use any synthetic products. Not for me, my employees, my children, my neighbors or my customers”.
We first encountered these wines at the infamous natural wine shop in Arbois, Les Jardins de St Vincent, run by Stéphane Planche. Stéphane always has his ear to the ground on the most new and exciting natural wine projects in Jura and beyond. A big inspiration for our shop, it brings us joy to see these bottles grace our shelves.
