Domaine Le Facteur

Mathieu Cosme started his Vouvray career in 2005 when he took over the reins of Domaine de Beaumont from his father. Mathieu is now the 5th generation to passionately make wine at the family estate in Noizay. Before taking over, Mathieu was a rugby player and then worked at Domaine Huet, which is one of the most highly regarded estates in Vouvray.

Domaine du Facteur is Mattiue's more natural project. Facteur is the French word for postman. These cuvées are named after the 1920s-1940s postmen who would ride their bikes to deliver mail. It was customary in France to offer wine to the postmen. After a glass of something at every stop, one can only conclude what happened near the end of the route.

The domaine is certified organic. Biodynamic preparations are used as well. The estate has 11 hectares of vines. The land is plowed by horse. Harvest is done by hand. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeast.
