Grapes: A 120-year-old (!!!) field blend of Muscadelle, Abouriou, Zinfandel, Mondeuse Noire, Trousseau Gris, & Chasselas
Aromas of cherries, peaches, and spices come from the co-fermentation of these grape varieties with elaborate black cherry and nectarine fruit. This wine is light and easy to drink, but oh so serious at the same time. A whisper of integrated volatile acidity gives the wine a welcomed lift and a nice touch of sherry-like oxidation pulls everything together. This wine is stunning and I never use that fucking word for anything.
